Coors Energy Company: Keenesburg Mine Permit No. C-81-028 2015 Second Quarter Pest & Disease Inspection On June 25, 2015 Danny Kipp of Coors Energy Company and Wayne Erickson of Habitat Management, Inc. inspected operational, bonded reclaimed and shop areas at the Keenesburg Mine for plant pests, plant diseases and noxious weeds that could or have affected establishment of vegetation on reclaimed lands. The inspection was conducted by vehicular and pedestrian means. The following areas were inspected: • The office/shop/facility area; • Topsoil stockpiles A-1 and B-1; • B pit; • The long-term spoil area; • Bonded Reclamation (Areas 23, 25, 27, 30 and 31); • The permanent sediment pond; • Mine roads; • Undisturbed land within the permit boundary; • and • The Dugout. These areas are depicted on Map 1. Plant disease was not observed within the inspection area. To date vegetation growth during this growing season has not been adversely affected by plant pests. Areas affected by infestation or blight were not identified during this inspection. No areas were observed where noxious weeds, plant pests or plant disease had adversely impacted the normal growth and establishment of vegetation on reclaimed lands. Higher than normal amounts of precipitation received this spring has stimulated the germination of seeds in the seed bank and encouraged the establishment and growth of all vegetation. This includes field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis) which is establishing along the road corridors and recently planted reclaimed areas in scattered locations. Coors personnel are aware of these patches and are periodically treating these locations to control them. They are also continuing to treat thistle on the north end of the stand of trees west of the office/shop complex where it continues to persist. Habitat Management, Inc. 1 June 29, 2015
