42,05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOA SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING ACTIVITIES -- <br />MINIMllM REQUIREMENTS FOR O?ERATION AND RECLAMATION PLANS, <br />2.05.4 Reclamation Plan. <br />(2) (a) (Cont'd.) <br />Topsoil will be removed from each area and stockpiled <br />according [o the topsoil plan in Section 2,05.3(5). <br />Slopes of the topsoil stockpile will he approximately <br />2h :l v, See Section 2.05.4(2)(e) for information on <br />seed mixtures. As stated in Section 2.05.3(3) (b), the <br />berms coostruc[ed around the perimeter of Che waste <br />rock disposal pile serve two purposes. One is [o keep <br />waste material confined within the prepared area. The <br />other purpose is to progressively provide four feet of <br />soil cover, the outside 8"-9" being tnpsnil, over the <br />side slopes as the waste pile is constructed. F.ach <br />Fall, all oew soil storage piles, berms, and other dis- <br />turbed soil areas are fertilized and seed distributed. <br />III. Reclaa[ion of L.'ater Line <br />The construction and reclamation of the 3.5 arse Or- <br />chard Valley Mine water line was completed in the Fall <br />of 1980. See Section 2.05.3(5) for details on topsoil <br />• removal and storage. <br />IV. Construction of New Structures <br />Periodically, as determined by the needs of mining <br />operations, new structures are designed and construct- <br />ed. Such structures already built are [lie rock diver- <br />sion chute and [ruck scales. On each of these projects <br />and on neW projects, reclamation activities and timeta- <br />bles vary somewhat. Typically [hough, areas designated <br />for construction of new structures are cleared of top- <br />soil, the topsoil is handled acc~>rding [o an approved <br />plan, the structure is constructed, and the area is <br />backfilled and topsoil redistributed. All areas are <br />then revegetated utilizing approved seed mixtures. Fi- <br />nal reclamation of these structures is described in the <br />following section. <br />V. Final Heclama[ion and Abandonment Program. <br />Reclamation will be accomplished throughout the life of <br />[he project as discussed in Phases I-III above. llpnn <br />completion of mining activities all equipment, build- <br />ings, conveyors, etc. will be removed from Clue land- <br />scape. AlI areas of disturbance will be cleaned of de- <br />bris, graded, and revegetated.
