CWI has designed and implemented a complete hy- <br />drologic monitoring program. <br />3) Adequate protection of water rights is ensured by <br />regular monitoring and quick repair of subsidence in- <br />duced problems. <br />4) Possible alternative sources of water will be pro- <br />posed, if required. CWI has submitted a listing of all <br />water rights it currently owns. <br />5) CWI has and will continue to cooperate with local <br />water users to improve water transportation systems. <br />• 6) Other means available for assuring the rights of <br />present water users will be studied and implemented. <br />Alternative sources of water that could be developed through <br />existing sources include, 1) East Beckwith Reservoir 4k1, 2) <br />Terror Ditch and, 3) West Reservoir. Other rights are listed <br />in the Water Replacement Plan Appendices, Volume SA. For oth- <br />er information on alternative water supply, refer to <br />2.05.6 (3)(a)(2)Ci). <br />The following, information is provided in response to a specif- <br />ic request from the regulatory authority. <br />The Pitkin Mesa Pipeline Company taps a series of natural <br />springs and seeps 4.2 miles north of the Orchard Valley Mine <br />Area for domestic use. By means of a 4-inch pipe (aqueduct) <br />the Company serves 130 users. The current flow rate is ap- <br />proximately 355,475 gallons/day. Structures have been built to ac- <br />commodate the crossings and prevent contamination of either <br />Steven's Gulch or the irrigation water.
