CWI has designed and implemented a complete hy- drologic monitoring program. 3) Adequate protection of water rights is ensured by regular monitoring and quick repair of subsidence in- duced problems. 4) Possible alternative sources of water will be pro- posed, if required. CWI has submitted a listing of all water rights it currently owns. 5) CWI has and will continue to cooperate with local water users to improve water transportation systems. • 6) Other means available for assuring the rights of present water users will be studied and implemented. Alternative sources of water that could be developed through existing sources include, 1) East Beckwith Reservoir 4k1, 2) Terror Ditch and, 3) West Reservoir. The following, information is provided in response to a specif- ic request from the regulatory authority. The Pitkin Mesa Pipeline Company taps a series of natural springs and seeps 4.2 miles north of the Orchard Valley Mine Area for domestic use. Several irrigation canals cross Steven's Gulch at points below the elevation of the mine.
