Bill Bear of Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL) accompanied the entire <br />inspection. Weather was cloudy and the mine site was wet and partially snow covered at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />The Bowie No. 2 Mine is an active underground mine. BRL has completed Longwall panel 17 and the longwall <br />miner remains idle in an effort to allow development of future longwall panels. Continuous miners are developing <br />panel 18. No activities were on-going at Gob Pile #2 due to weather conditions and the minimal amount of <br />processed gob is being placed in the drying area of Gob #3. No trains were observed loading or unloading at the <br />time of the inspection. Currently, revisions SL -1 and TR -99 are under review by the Division. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE —Rule 4.18: <br />The post mining land use for the Bowie No. 2 Mine includes wildlife habitat. During the inspection both mule <br />deer and a small herd of elk were observed within both the disturbance area and permit area with no observed <br />negative effects and no observed disturbances with general movement of the wildlife. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Ponds B, C, D, F, K, and J were observed during the inspection. No ponds were discharging at the time of the <br />inspection.
