t
t
WAGNER PIT #M-2010-002
Technical Revision
NOXIOUS WEED MANAGEMENT PLAN
February 1, 2016
1.0 Purpose
The purpose of the Plan is to provide guidelines for managing designated noxious weeds
to meet requirements for the Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety.
2.0 Identification
2.01 State of Colorado Noxious Weed List
The State list of undesirable plant species as listed on 12/30/2015 which have
been designated as noxious weeds for management under the revised 8 CCR
1206-2 Rules.
The state list includes three separate lists and an additional list of caution species
the management plan will encompass the following:
List A Species (25)
List B Species (37)
List C Species (16)
Including Watch List Species (24)
2.02 Moffat County Noxious Weed List
Plan will address Moffat County list of noxious weeds updated 1/15/16
List A Species (14)
List B Species (32)
3.0 Methodology
Chemical control has been determined based on a site survey to be the most effective
method of control for Wagner Pit. Chemical control consists mostly of selective and
non-selective herbicides. When properly executed, chemical control provides rapid
results, which can be quite effective. Since the list of herbicides is so extensive, the local
Weed District, Extension Service, Soil Conservation Service or the Division will be
contacted to provide input in choosing the right products for the job.
4.0 Application
4.01 Schedule -Total control is almost never achieved with one herbicidal application.
Therefore, areas of infestation usually require treatment in two successive years at a
minimum in order to provide acceptable control. To that end multiple applications will
be used semi- annually in early May and early September.
