Upper Poudre Combined SWSP Page 2 of i t
January 28, 2016
constructed under DRMS permit no. M-1977-439 (Home Office Pit). Continuous dewatering will occur
at the Home Office Pit and the North Taft Hill Expansion Site.
The Treiber Lakes have officially been separated from the Home Office Pit mining permit
boundaries and are now covered under DRMS permit no. M-2011-049. The Tri-Districts and the City
of Greeley ("Partners") have assumed augmentation responsibility for the Treiber Lakes and the
Lamb Lakes. These sites are included in the Partners Combined SWSP (WDID 0302556) and are
therefore not included in this SWSP. Although depletions from the Lamb Lakes are being replaced by
the Partners Combined SWSP, they are within MMM's DRMS mining permit for the Home Office Pit and
thus final reclamation liability remains with MMM as the Home Office Pit permit holder.
The Overland Ponds Site is made up of five individual cells. Cells 1 through 5 of the Overland
Ponds Site have been lined and liners have been approved by the Colorado Division of Water
Resources ("DWR"). The liner for Cell 1 was approved on October 5, 2011, the liner for Cell 2 was
approved on December 16, 2013 and re-approved (after intentional breaching) on May 13, 2015, the
liner for Cell 3 was approved on December 10, 2014, the liner for Cell 4 was approved on March 6,
2015, and the liner of Cell 5 was approved on November 17, 2015. Since all five cells have been
lined, there is no longer any ground water exposed at the Overland Ponds Site. Therefore the
consumptive use at the Overland Ponds Site during the period of this SWSP will consist only of
historical lagged depletions from past mining activities at the site.
The Applicant will replace the current and historical lagged depletions at these sites using a
portion of the 15.175 Taylor Et Gill Ditch shares owned by MMM. MMM will delivered a portion of their
Taylor &t Gill Ditch shares directly back to the Cache La Poudre River or to MMM'S recharge facility to
augment the out-of-priority depletions at thee sites.
The attached Figure 1 shows the location and boundaries of the subject mining sites.
Depletions
During the term of this plan, consumptive use at the Home Office Pit and North Taft Hill site
will consist of evaporative depletions from exposed ground water, water lost with the mined product
and water pumped for dust control; consumptive use at the Overland Ponds Site will be limited to
the lagged depletions from previous mining activities.
The total depletions for the subject sites are shown in Table B below.
Table B - Depletions
Lost in Mined Dust Total Lagged
Site Name Evaporation Losses Product Control Total Stream Depletions
(ac ft) (ac-ft) (ac-ft) (ac-ft) (ac-ft)
Home Office 32.40* 1.30 29.00 61.40 61.22
Pit
Overland Ponds 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.02
Site
North Taft Hill 6.29 19.79 0.00 26.08 27.27
Expansion Site
Total 38.69 20.95 29.46 87.48 88.51
*based on 15.7 acres exposed from January through November and 15.99 acres exposed in December
2016
