NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Reclama- <br />tion, Mining and Safety proposes to <br />approve Technical Revision Applica- <br />tion No. 68 (TR -68) for the Roadside <br />Portals (Permit No. C-1981.041), sub- <br />mitted by Snowcap Coal Company, <br />Inc. SCC is proposing to change the <br />post -mining land use for former <br />pond 8 from fish and wildlife habitat <br />to commercial. The area is 0.5 acre <br />in size and is adjacent to the agricul- <br />tural commercial property Kokopelli <br />Farm and Produce: The pre -mining <br />land use of this area was commer- <br />cial and it will be used to support <br />the commercial agricultural busk <br />ness. <br />The Roadside Portals is alan under- <br />ground coal mine located in Mesa <br />County, approximately 5 miles N of <br />Palisade, Colorado. Coal interest is <br />federal and private, and the surface <br />affected is federal and private land. <br />The permit area encompasses ap- <br />prpximately 2,786.00 acres. <br />This proposed decision is based on <br />a finding that the proposed opera- <br />tion will comply with all require- <br />ments of the Colorado Surface Coal <br />Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34 <br />33101, et seq., C.R.S., and the regu- <br />lations promulgated thereunder. <br />Copies of the proposed decision, in- <br />cluding stipulations, are on file for <br />public inspection at the Colorado Di- <br />vision of Reclamation, Mining and <br />Safety, Room 215, Centennial Build- <br />ing,1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203. Persons with an in- <br />terest that may be adversely affec- <br />ted by the proposed decision may <br />request a formal hearing before the <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board on <br />the proposed decision.
