Colorado Ave <br />Telluride, CO 81435 <br /> <br />Re: Topaz Mine, Pinon Ridge Mining LLC, Permit No. M-1980-055-HR, Request for <br />Temporary Cessation Status <br /> <br />Board of San Miguel County Commissioners, <br /> <br />This letter is to inform Counties and Municipalities within two miles of a mining operation of the <br />intent of the Operator to put their mining operation into a state of Temporary Cessation. This <br />letter is sent pursuant to the requirements of Rule 1.13.6 of the Hard Rock and Metals Mining <br />Rules of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board. <br /> <br />Please Be advised that Pinon Ride Mining LLC., Whose address is P.O. Box 825, 31161 <br />Highway 90, Nucla, CO 81424 and whose telephone number is (970)-864-2124, has filed Notice <br />of Temporary Cessation with the Division of Reclamation , Mining and Safety for the Topaz <br />Mine, Permit No. M-1980-055-HR. The mining operation is located at or near Section 10, <br />Township 44N, Range 18W, and 10th New Mexico Prime Meridian in San Miguel County. <br /> <br />The period of Temporary Cessation will commence beginning on April 19, 2015 and will last up <br />to five years from that date, ending April 19, 2020. The notice submitted to the Division <br />contains information pertaining to the reasons for cessation of the mining operation, a plan for <br />resumption, and the measures taken to comply with reclamation and other necessary activities <br />related to the performance standards of Rule 3 of the Hard Rock and Metals Mining Rules in <br />order to maintain the mine in a non-producing or non-developed state. <br /> <br />The receipt of the Notice of Temporary Cessation will be acknowledged in the monthly activity <br />report attached to the agenda for the February 24-25, 2016 meeting of the Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board unless a written, timely objection if filed by a person directly and adversely <br />affected or aggrieved as defined by Rule 1.1 (38.1) of the Hard Rock and Metals Mining Rules <br /> <br />If objections are received, the Division will place the Notice of Temporary Cessation on the <br />agenda for the March 23-24, 2016 meeting of the Mined Land Reclamation Board. During that <br />meeting the Board will consider whether or not to accept the Notice. <br />
