Alk
Natural Soda LLC
2015 Project Status Report & Annual Plan of Development
4.4 Geotechnical Program
NS currently monitors two time -domain -reflectometry (TDR) subsurface -subsidence
monitor wells, the 4A -5M and 3M -TDR. There has been no indication of surface or
subsurface subsidence near the 4A -5M well since installation. One of the TDR cables in
the 4A -5M well is showing evidence of water infiltration. The 3M -TDR well was drilled late
in 2003. Two of the four TDR cables in 3M -TDR subsidence well were corrupted during
installation and not operable. In 2015, readings were again taken and data was gathered
from cables two and three. In addition to the monthly NS readings, the installation
contractor also collects data quarterly; no significant ground movement has been detected
near the 3M -TDR well since the cables were installed.
4.4.1 Subsurface Subsidence Geophysical Logging
No production well pairs were drilled at NS in 2015. No gamma ray and casing collar
locator (GR/CCL) logs were required to establish baseline conditions for future
geophysical log subsidence monitoring.
4.4.2 Surface Subsidence Monitoring
Three new surface subsidence monuments (SSM) were installed in 2015 to monitor
surface subsidence above the proposed 15H, 16H, and 17H production intervals.
These new surface monument along with the existing 14 monuments located
throughout the well field yield a total of 17 SSMs above NS's area of operations. A
general surface subsidence survey was conducted in April of 2015. A review of the
2015 survey indicated no surface subsidence. A surface subsidence survey of all SSMs
will be conducted in 2017.
Results of the 2015 SSM Survey are shown in Table 5 below.
4.5 Water Well Pumpage
In 2015, approximately 125.4 million gallons of water was pumped from water supply
wells 90-1, WSW -2, WSW -3, and WSW -4 with an average of 237.5 gpm. The total
pumpage from WSW -2 was 35.0 million gallons, WSW -3 was 24.7 million gallons,
WSW -4 was 44.7 million gallons and the total pumpage from 90-1 was 21.0 million
gallons.
DAUB & ASSOCIATES.
