New Horizon Mine
III. Summary of Reclamation and Management
The Section 6 areas requested for Phase I bond release had contained an overburden storage pile,
topsoil piles, and a haul road. The overburden pile, topsoil piles, and haul road were removed
and topsoil was replaced in 2015. The reclamation work completed included removing the
overburden storage pile and the haul road fill, regrading to the surface to the approved post -
mining topography, and topsoil replacement as shown on Maps 1 and 2.
The Section 31 area was the BB Road Detour and a topsoil stockpile site and was reclaimed in
2004 and 2010 respectively. The BB Road Detour area was regarded, topsoil was spread on the
regraded area, and the reclaimed area was seeded. The topsoil was removed from the stockpile
and spread on reclaimed ground, and the stockpile site was seeded as shown on Maps 1 and 3.
The reclaimed areas have been regraded consistent with the approved post -mining topography
(please see Map 2.05.4-1-3), and follows all criteria set forth for Phase I bond release by the
Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety. Please refer to Maps 2 and 3 for
representative cross-sections of the regraded areas in relation to the approved post -mining
topography.
There is not any applicable drainage control constructed within this Phase I application. The
post -mine land use is dryland pasture and irrigated pasture. Sediment control is provided by
Pond 007 as shown on Map 2.05.3(3)-1-2 for the Phase I areas in Section 6. Sediment control
was provided by Ponds 007, 009, and 014 for the Phase I areas in Section 31.
SL -18 Phase I Bond Release Application Page 6
