King Coal Mine (C-1981-035) TR -20 Adequacy Review #3 Response <br />Section 2.05.3 Operation Plan — Permit Area <br />DRMS Oct 2015: This item is unresolved due to the following: <br />Section 2.05.4 revised pg. 4 does not seem to flow correctly between permit pgs. 4 and 5 and revised pages 4 <br />and 5a submitted. There is text missing at the end of the submitted page 4 revised page. Please make sure <br />page breaks are correctly placed and that all necessary text is included. <br />GCCE Dec. 2015: King I 2.05.4 Pages 4, 5 and 5a have been revised to ensure that page <br />breaks and text are correct. <br />Please leave a line space between the headings: <br />Grading and Backfilling and <br />Mine Waste Rock Pile Reclamation <br />GCCE Dec. 2015: A line space has been placed between the above headings as <br />requested. <br />Please clam: Does revised page 5A replace page 5 of the permit? Subsection: "Grading and Backfilling" <br />DRMS Oct 2015: There seems to be either redundant language or extra text in paragraph 2 regarding <br />the 2.5:1 slope grade. Please revisit this text and make sure it reads correctly and send any revised <br />pages to DBMS. <br />GCCE Dec. 2015: King I 2.05.4 page 4 has been revised to address the 2.5:1 slope grade <br />text as requested. <br />2. Subsection: "Waste Pile Reclamation" (Mine Waste Rock Pile Reclamation) <br />DRMS Oct 2015 (New): I am researching conclusions and recommendation for cover materials with <br />respect to potentially acid forming soils. In order not to exacerbate soil conditions (for example create a <br />hard impermeable surface between the acid forming portion and the transition soil) it is important to use <br />the correct type of clay and proportion of sand for the transition zone soil. Regarding the transition zone <br />soil I have the following adequacy questions: <br />What type of clay is proposed for this area? <br />
