What I found interesting is that the L and S values are the same for the Loadout Area and the
Portal and RDA Areas. It seems unlikely that the length and slopes would be identical for both areas. The same
average LS factor of 2.05 is used for both areas.
In the added sediment demonstrations it appears that the steepest slope used is 25%. This is far less than
the slopes actually measured by DRMS (Harry Raney) on the RDA.
do not have a Map 33 to evaluate the length and slope used in the LS calculations, and the locations of these
drainage flow lines are not delineated in the report.
note that the last part of the rev. report contains the thought that the sediment ponds (4 and 5) are still in place
to contain the sediment runoff. If these ponds are anticipated to compensate for excess sediment load, this is
not a long term solution unless both are periodically cleaned out. Since I can speak for only pond 5, it may not
be cleaned out indefinitely.
Doug Corley
https://mail.googl e.com/m ai I/u/0/?ui=2&i k=e29129fcb5&view=pt&search= i nbox&th=15266035b95c5OcO&si m l=15266035b95c5OcO 1 /1
