SPECIFICATION NUMBER: <br /> Climax Molybdenum CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION 03 30 00 SPE <br /> AFreeport-McMoRanCompany TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION PROJECT NAME: <br /> CAVR Shaft Closure Project <br /> 2. Reinforcing bars, dowels and anchors rods, which are to be epoxy grouted, <br /> shall be sandblasted to white metal and shall be clean, dry and at <br /> temperatures specified by the epoxy Manufacturer. <br /> U. Clean-Up <br /> 1. Following completion of the work covered by the contract and this <br /> Specification for any structure or portion thereof, the Contractor is required <br /> to clean-up the area for subsequent construction or equipment installation. <br /> The clean-up work shall consist of, but not be limited to, removal of <br /> construction equipment and materials used in the work, forms, unused <br /> materials, and spilled/wash-down concrete. The clean-up work and <br /> disposal of trash and debris shall be as directed and approved by the <br /> Engineer. <br /> 3.03 TESTING AND INSPECTION <br /> A. Concrete Strength Testing <br /> 1. During the course of construction, tests shall be made by the Concrete <br /> Contractor to determine whether the concrete, as being produced and <br /> delivered, complies with the standards of quality specified. The sampling <br /> and testing of concrete shall be in accordance with Section 01 45 00 — <br /> Special Inspection and Testing. <br /> a. The Contractor is not relieved of the responsibility ofproper placing <br /> and curing, even though test reports may indicate adequate <br /> strengths. <br /> b. The Contractor shall provide such access and assistance as these <br /> personnel may require to obtaining their samples,and shall not place <br /> any concrete rejected by them for any reason. <br /> c. For concrete containing fly ash, the fly ash shall be tested as <br /> specified in ASTM C311. <br /> B. Enforcement of Strength Requirements, Definition of Failure <br /> 1. Cast Specimens: The test specimens cast and cured in the field will be <br /> considered to have failed the strength requirements when, for any class of <br /> concrete,the average of any set of 3 consecutive strength test results are not <br /> equal to the specified strength or any individual test result falls below the <br /> specified strength by more than 500 psi. <br /> 114-910345 CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION <br /> Climax CAVR Shaft Closure Project 03 30 00 SPE-24 <br />
