Concrete temperatures and curing periods shall conform to the following <br /> charts: <br /> a. Minimum Concrete temperature(*) as delivered: <br /> Minimum Placement Dimension <br /> Ambient Temperature Less Than „ „ Larger than <br /> 12” <br /> 12"-36" 36"-72" 72" <br /> Above 30°F 60°F 55°F 50°F 45°F <br /> 0°F to 30°F 65°F 60°F 55°F 50°F <br /> Below 0°F 70°F 65°F 60°F 55°F <br /> (*)Concrete temperature as delivered shall not exceed the above minimum concrete <br /> temperatures by more than 15°F. <br /> b. Concrete temperatures as placed and maintained for curing period: <br /> Minimum Placement Dimension <br /> Less Than 12"-36" 36"-72" Larger <br /> 12" Than 72" <br /> Min.Concrete Temp 55°F 50°F 45°F 40°F <br /> Max.Air Temp.at 75°F 70°F 65°F 60°F <br /> Concrete Surface <br /> Min.Curing Period 7 7 6 5 <br /> (Days) <br /> c. Temperatures of forms., reinforcements, embedments or earth to be <br /> in contact with fresh concrete shall be at least 35°F, but shall not <br /> exceed 60°F. <br /> d. Enclosures shall be windproof, weatherproof and provide for the <br /> circulation of air in contact with concrete surfaces or forms. <br /> e. Heating units shall be located so as not to heat or dry the concrete <br /> locally. Heaters shall be vented, if necessary, so that the concrete is <br /> not exposed to carbon dioxide. Open type or oil pot salamanders <br /> shall not be used. <br /> f. Blanket or batt insulation shall be protected by a tough moisture <br /> proof cover from wind, rain or snow which will impair its insulating <br /> properties.
