`'ti STATE OF
ACOLORADO Scott - DNR, Eric <eric.scott@state.co.us>
Reagent Testing at Climax
1 message
McGill, Brian <Brian_McGill@fmi.com> Tue, Jan 19, 2016 at 10:08 AM
To: "eric.scott@state.co.us" <eric.scott@state.co.us>
Cc: "Lazuk, Raymond" <Raymond_Lazuk@fmi.com>
Hi Eric,
Hope all is going well. Climax Metallurgy would like to run a short test on two new reagents in attempt to
improve upon the froth quality in the flotation area. The reagents include FP509 and FP706 (SDSs attached)
which are both Nalco products. We would like to add around 150—200 cc/min of a 50:50 mix of the FP509 and
FP706 at the cyclone underflow and 15 cc/min of the same mixture at the at 3rd cleaner conditioner. A 55-gallon
drum of each test reagent will be brought and placed on a secondary containment pallet within the mill building
which will provide tertiary containment in the event of any spills. The test is scheduled to last around 4 days. In
the event that we see any issues with our process from the reagent testing, we will discontinue the test and
dispose of the remaining chemical in accordance with waste regulations. We will be plan to update to the EPP if
we decide to make this a permanent change.
Please let me know if you have any concerns. We would like to begin testing as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Brian
Brian D.
