The set of WET
tests checking for toxicity following the pond expansion concluded on December 18th. Toxicity
was found in 100% effluent for both Daphnia magna and Fathead minnow with D. magna
exhibiting the greatest toxicity.
Samples have been sent off for analysis of major ions. We suspect that the toxicity is related to
an abundance of salts. Further WET testing will test commence addressing this later in the
month.
In accordance with Part I.A.2.d of our permit subsequent status reports will be provided per the
conditions of this Part at 90 days with a final report submitted by 120 days. We will continue to
perform WET testing using Daphnia magna as part of our automatic compliance schedule.
Daphnia magna was the more sensitive species tested.
Dr. Rami Naddy of TRE Environmental Strategies will be providing us guidance in completing
the appropriate test work.
If you have any questions, please call me at 970-675-4322.
Sincerel"'4
z__
Scott Wanstedt
Environmental Engineer
cc: Jeff Dubbert
Clayton Wein - DRMS
