<br /> <br />Section 01400.1 Page 2 of 10 January 14, 2011 <br />Earthworks CQA Plan Revision 0 <br /> <br />S:\Projects\1125G Squaw Gulch Valley Leach Facililty Design\I - Tech Specs\01400.1.r0.doc <br /> coordination of all construction activities associated with CONTRACTOR; <br /> scheduling and coordinating construction activities with required CQA testing and activities; <br /> overseeing the construction quality control operations performed by CONTRACTOR; <br /> approve specific corrective measures to be implemented during construction when deviations <br />from the SPECIFICATIONS occur; <br /> ensure that required quality assurance testing has been performed in accordance with the <br />CQA Plan and to the satisfaction of the CQA Monitor; and <br /> ensure that the CQA personnel are provided with all documentation required in the CQA Plan <br />and project SPECIFICATIONS. <br />2.03 DESIGN ENGINEER: <br /> In this CQA Plan, DESIGN ENGINEER refers specifically to AMEC. DESIGN ENGINEER is the <br />individual or firm responsible for the design and preparation of the DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS. <br />DESIGN ENGINEER is responsible for approving all DESIGN and SPECIFICATION changes, <br />modifications, or clarifications encountered during construction. <br />2.04 CERTIFYING ENGINEER: <br /> In this plan, CERTIFYING ENGINEER refers specifically to (To Be Determined). CERTIFYING <br />ENGINEER is the individual or firm responsible for certifying the construction was performed in compliance <br />with the DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS. MANAGER and CERTIFYING ENGINEER shall be <br />responsible for the resolution of all quality assurance issues. <br />2.05 CONSTRUCTION QUALITY ASSURANCE MONITOR: <br /> The CQA Monitor is the firm or individual responsible for performing the CQA tasks outlined in this CQA <br />Plan. The CQA Monitor is the official CQA representative of CC&V and has the responsibility of overseeing <br />the CQA aspects of the Work. In this CQA Plan the CQA Monitor is associated with the CERTIFYING <br />ENGINEER, and refers specifically to (To Be Determined). The CQA Monitor has the authority to stop any <br />aspect of the Work that is not in compliance with the CQA Plan. Work would then be resumed once <br />corrective action has been approved by MANAGER. The specific responsibilities of the CQA Monitor <br />include: <br /> review the DRAWINGS, SPECIFICATIONS, and related guidance documents; <br /> review all CONTRACTOR QC submittals and make appropriate recommendations; <br /> obtain preconstruction and construction samples and perform material evaluation testing as <br />required; <br /> monitor foundation preparation activities as discussed in Section 6.02.01 and material <br />placement as discussed in Section 6.02.02; <br /> assure that testing equipment used and tests performed are conducted according to <br />SPECIFICATIONS and industry standards;
