hlk Martin
varietta
December 09, 2015
Fremont County Board of County Commissioners
615 Macon Ave.,Room 105
Canon City,CO 81212
Dear Commissioners:
We are pleased to notify you that Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. ("Martin Marietta")recently
acquired sole interest in Front Range Aggregates LLC("FRA"). The primary purpose of this
letter is to notify you of this arrangement and request that Martin Marietta Materials Inc. be
named on the CUP 07-003 instead of FRA.
Martin Marietta, an American-based company, is a leading supplier of aggregates and heavy
building materials, with operations spanning 32 states, including Colorado. Our dedicated teams
at Martin Marietta supply the resources for the roads, sidewalks and foundations on which we all
live and travel. Martin Marietta employees work in the communities in which we operate. Our
success through the years is a direct result of being a good neighbor and involvement in the
community. We take pride in our employees and operations. Our acquisition of FRA represents
a great opportunity to expand our work in Colorado.
In addition, our review of the Fremont County Road Access Agreement indicates that although
no formal notification of our arrangement is required,we nonetheless wanted you to be aware of
the acquisition in regard to this agreement. Fremont County State Highway Access Permit
County Road Access Agreement-#297100, § (IV)(2) (October 16, 1997)(the"permittee,his
heirs, successors-in-interest, and assigns" of the property serviced by the access are responsible
for meeting the terms and conditions of the permit).
Martin Marietta understands that the company will be bound by all the terms and conditions of
CUP 07-003 Permit and requests to be named on the Conditional Use Permit instead of Front
Range Aggregates. We believe this name change will reduce confusion with the company names
and allow for greater transparency as we work together.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to long and
productive working relationship with the County and the Commissioner's Office.
Sincerely,
David Hagerman
VP/GM Rocky Mountain Division
Rocky Mountain Division Martin Marietta Materials Inc.
10170 Church Ranch Way,Suite 201,Westminster,CO 80021
t.(720)245-6400
www.martinmarietta.corn
