Executive Summar
American Soda, C.C.P. is submitting this bUth Quarterly Ground Water Monitoring Report
in compliance with E.P.A. U. I. C. Area Permit CO3858-00000 Final Modification No. 9
(lVlaarLh 31, ZUU5), MLRB Rard Ruck Mining uperation Permit Ido. M-99-UUZ (I ti-nnical
Revision No. 4), and U. S. B. C. M. Sodium Cease Nos. C-0118328 and C-0118329 Record of
Decision. The data prCJcntCd in this ducurnEnt represents the time period from 7uly 1,
ZU15 tHrougH September 30, 2015. I he Pieeance processing plant and well tield were in
temporary suspension of production operations status and nu sulutiun mining aLtivrty
Uccurred during the report period.
The Hydrologic monitoring program for the current reporting period at the YanRee Gulch
Sudium Minerals Project includes munituring of eight key metals and 14 wet chemistry
constituents trom ZZ sampling locations inclading tive separate water Bearing zones.
Sampling pints are pusitiuncd up gradient, duwn gradient, truss gradient, and in-paancl
in relatiurn to the mining activity. Recording of water elevations and tield parameters is
completed in conjunction with collection of the water quality samples from each well. As
a result of the RigFi sulids cuntent UT tRe dissulutiun aquiter, sampling is only reliably
saccesstul at one dissolution sample point. The completion of this well (21-313) is in the
upper portion uf the dissulutiun aquifer where dissulved solids are somewhat less
concentrated. Water levels in all three dissolution surfface monitoring wells are being
manually measured and recorded on a quarterly basis. une down- stream private
domestic ground water well (BURKE) is also sampled quarterly.
Before American Soda cummencEd mining uperatiuns iii 20u0, fifteen months of baseline
gruund water data was collected. I He Warrent quarter monitoring data for eacH well is
summarized in a one page table per well in this document. Not only is the raw data for
the present reporting period included, but also regulator y standards and statistics are
shown for comparison and, additionally, Baseline and operational statistics are calculated
fur all data prior to the reporting periud.
