EXHIBIT D
MINING PLAN

This Exhibit, through reference to the sections itemized below, describes the methods that
will be used for mining ore and overburden materials and associated beneficiation of the
ore for this Amendment 11. Surface mining methods at the Cresson Project will remain
essentially the same as currently approved. Amendment 11 adds underground
development and mining methods, extends the final crest elevation of the East Cresson
Overburden Storage Area (“ECOSA”), modifies the mining and backfilling sequence of
the Globe Hill/Schist Island Mining areas, and modifies the final stacking plan for the
Arequa Gulch Valley Leach Facility (“VLF”). The sections referenced below provide a
description of method(s) of mining to be employed; discussion of earthmoving; water
diversions and impoundments; the size of area(s) to be worked; and an approximate
timetable for the operations. Also referenced below are the sections that describe the
nature, depth, and thickness of the ore bodies to be mined; the primary and secondary
commodities to be mined; and the intended use. Gold and silver continue to be the
primary commodities mined at the site. The sections of the Project Description that
describe the mining and processing for both surface and underground operations also are
referenced below.

The information to address this Exhibit is contained in the Project Description in Sections
5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, and 12.0 of Volume I of this application. The contents
of each section are described below.

Section 5.0 Mining and Operations Management Plan (Surface and
Underground)

Section 6.0 High Grade Mill Facilities

Section 7.0 Valley Leach Facilities

Section 8.0 Precious Metals Recovery Facility

Section 9.0 Support Facilities

Section 10.0 Surface Water Management

Section 11.0 Monitoring

Section 12.0 Reclamation and Closure

Appendices 1 through 14 contain detailed information relevant to the Mining Plan.
