Danielson, luke@ldanielsonlaw.com <br />Re. 6LM NEPA Evaluation of Proposed Coal Lease to GCC LLC for King Coal 11 <br />Consideration of Alternatives <br />Dear Ms. Johnson: <br />As you know, we represent Crosscreek Ranch, LLC, a neighbor of the ]Ging II Coal mining <br />operation in La Plata County. <br />I wanted to transmit to you the attached report of Eldon Strid, who is an experienced and <br />deeply knowledgeable engineer who has worked for years in the evaluation of options for coal <br />transport. His Statement of Qualifications is also included. <br />We would request that this formally be made part of the record in this NEPA proceeding. <br />Southwest Colorado Advocates, though they are not our client, have asked that this also be <br />considered submitted on their behalf and I hope you will accept it in that spirit. <br />CONSIDERATION OF ALTERNATIVES <br />This report makes it clear that onr:: uF the central issues in this lease decision is the question of <br />transportation alternatives. We bele-ve that this coula be one of the the most important issues <br />in the overall NEPA analysis. <br />1 <br />
