Water Monitoring
After discussions with CDRMS, it was determined that spring/seep and groundwater
monitoring at the Carbon Junction Mine was no longer necessary. The monitoring
program was terminated as of the first calendar quarter of 2006.
Oakridge conducted a spoils monitoring program as a part of the protection of the
hydrologic balance in the reclamation program. The spoils monitoring began with spring
runoff in 1998, and determined that no significant discharge occurred where after the
monitoring was terminated with the approval of CDRMS. A single monitoring point was
established at the base of the spoil at the lower end of the underdrain.
2.05.6(4) Protection of Public Parks and Historic Places
There are no public parks or historic places near the mine site.
2.05.6(5) Surface Mining Near Underground Mining
There are no underground mining activities near this surface mine.
2.05.6(6) Subsidence Survey, Monitoring, and Control Plan
The requirements of this section do not apply, Carbon Junction is a surface mine.
Abridged Permit Document 5-27 Permit Revision PROI 9/2014
