Since this is an expansion to an existing pit, and is in close
proximity to an airport and other commercial development areas, the amount of additional disturbance
should be minimal.
Wildlife species present in this area include mule deer, rabbits and several bird species. There
are no known threatened or endangered species to be concerned with at this time. Again, this is not
critical habitat for any one of these species. Also, there are no known migration routes that would be
impacted by this development.
I would anticipate that all reclamation efforts will be made to restore this area to a natural
vegetation composition following Division of Minerals and Geology standards. Additional concerns
would be for control of noxious weed species associated with the soil disturbance. Also, I would
anticipate that sediment control measures be taken to avoid run-off into the White River.
I hope this information will be sufficient to answer any questions you may have. Please feel
free to contact again if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
'Ed/ of
Bill de Vergie
District Wildlife Manager
Cc: Dan Prenzlow
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, Greg E.
