RECLAMATION PLAN <br /> Materials Handling- Grading <br /> All slopes will be graded to 3:1 except for the slopes above and below the Fountain <br /> Mutual Ditch location. Those will be graded to 4:1 above the ditch and 3.5:1 to 4:1 below the <br /> ditch. The Little Johnson area slopes will be in accordance with the requirements stated in that <br /> ® separate section of this plan. <br /> S(done, <br /> Final grading of the slopes will be along the contour so as to reduce, as much as possible, <br /> ol lines on the slope where erosion could begin. Furthermore, the slope will not be <br /> hed but rather will have a fine, horizontal texture to reduce the ability of water to flow <br /> the slope. Although such a fine texture will not prevent the possibility of vertical rilling <br /> lly formation during heavy storm events, it will greatly aid in maintaining a reasonably <br /> �` n free surface until the vegetation can become established. In the event deep rills or gullies <br /> those will be repaired quickly so as to avoid the expansion of such features. Where repair is <br /> the area will be retopsoiled and seeded again. <br /> J <br /> Water- General Requirements <br /> Water the operation is obtained from wells and from the Fountain Mutua_ Most <br /> of the water used is recycled to reduce consumption of new water. All of this use has remained <br /> the same for many years and has been thoroughly addressed previously. <br /> Some of the water used in the operation is lost by evaporation from settling ponds,water <br /> contained in product, and lost to percolation into the porous beds under the operation. Water that <br /> collects from storms does not leave the operation as most portions of the operation is contained <br /> in either deep or shallow basins. Thus discharge to drainages is a rare event that requires <br /> extraordinarily large storms. <br /> Water- Groundwater Specific Requirements <br /> Groundwater is not exposed to any significant extent. That is(1,4kes and pond are not <br /> created by mining down into the groundwater zone. However, late in the season when the water <br /> table tends to rise due to irrigation of lawns upstream, small groundwater seeps can sometimes <br /> occur in a few locations. These are generally short-lived and of limited extent and are accounted <br /> for by water rights. <br /> As a part of the overall water budget for the operation, an aquifer recharge system has <br /> been in place for many years. Just north of where the tunnel under Academy Boulevard exits to <br /> the east side, there is about a three acre pond. This pond is fed by a side circuit derived from the <br /> Daniels Sand Pit Amendment (2008) Exhibit E Page 13 of 22 <br />
