MARCH 28,2003 ADDENDUM TO NELSON PIT WEED CONTROL PLAN <br /> MAJOR SPECIES OF CONCERN-It is anticipated that the weed control program for diffuse knapweed will be implemented annually until <br /> the species is no longer a problem at the Nelson Pit site. <br /> Weed Species Life Mowing Treatment Herbicide(s)for Comments <br /> Scientific Name Common Name Form chemical treatment <br /> The primary strategy for controlling diffuse knapweed is to <br /> reduce seed production by mowing and elimination of <br /> existing plants prior to seed set using herbicide control. A <br /> yearly schedule for diffuse knapweed control will consist of <br /> the following: <br /> • April-May: evaluate extent and location of <br /> treatment areas <br /> Mowing will be used 0 May:Herbicide application on identified treatment <br /> in early summer on Picloram(Tordon) areas.
