Your plan references a variety of noxious
weeds and generic treatment strategies such as herbicide application and mowing. It also
appears that diffuse knapweed is the main weed of concern. Prior to approval of your
plan, the Division requests that you provide the details of specific treatments for diffuse
knapweed and for any other noxious weed prevalent at the Nelson Pit. Such details
should include the time of year and frequency of mowing each year, the specific
herbicide or herbicides to be applied, and the concentration, timing, and frequency of
herbicide application. The Division will Iook forward to your response on or before
March 3, 2003.
Please call me at (303) 866-3567 if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Thomas A.
