w
AII
November 18, 2015
Tim Cazier
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 205
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Permit No. M-1980-224, MacKenzie Pit
Technical Revision Request
Dear Mr. Cazier,
RECEIVED
NOV 2 4 2015
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING & SAFETY
TR01
Please accept this correspondence as request to modify the final reclamation plan for
Fremont Paving & Redi-Mix Inc.'s MacKenzie Pit at 839 MacKenzie Avenue, Canon City, CO in
Fremont County. The current reclamation plan provides for grading undisturbed ground in the
event mining terminates before the reserve is mined out. John Paul Ary of Fremont Paving & Redi-
Mix Inc. respectfully suggests that native ground remain undisturbed should mining terminate
prematurely. Exposed high walls at the time of termination would be sloped 3H:1V. Proposed
Reclamation Plan language is as follows:
In the event mining ends before the gravel reserve is mined out, ground not impacted by
mining will remain undisturbed. All existing high walls will be graded to 3H:1V slope and
revegetated in accordance with the approved reclamation plan.
This modification will reduce bonding by the cost of grading the site to a 5H:1V slope. It has
the potential, however to increase the linear feet of high wall from 850 linear feet (approximately
1.5 acres) to 1300 linear feet (approximately 2.0 acres). The proposed bond estimate is $10,039.26
(Provided in the chart on page 2).
Please feel free to contact me directly at 719-275-8951 or angela@envalternatives.com with any
questions.
Respectfully submitted,
i 1 y 6 le j
Angela M.
