FhRMIT #: M-1980-171 <br />1NSFtCIOWS INITIALS: THM <br />INSFtC I ION VA I h: September 30, 2015 <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This inspection was uunductcd as part of the nurmal munituring program established 5y the Colorado <br />uivisivn of Reclamation Mining and Safety. The Bachelor Syracuse Mine (Khedivv Purtal) uperatiun is an <br />active 11u(L) undergiuund mine. I he commodities mined are gold and silver. The mine currently consists of <br />2.0 permitted acres. The mine bite is lucated apprummately L.5 miles nurtR ut u-uray cuiuradu utt of county <br />Road 14. Bachelor silvers Mines Company representative Carl Dismant was present during the inspectiun. <br />The mine identification sign was observed at the Entrance to the mine site and ib in compliance witR Kole <br />3.1.1 L. <br />The main focus of the inspection was to obsin ve the current cunditiuns of the site and determine it any <br />issues needed to be addressed. <br />The primary use of the Khedive Portal has been to pruvidc vcntilatiun and a sEcunda, y escape way tur the <br />Syracuse Portal. The Syracuse Portal is permitted under a different permit, M-1980-170, alsu owned by Carl <br />Dismant. I he Syracuse Purtal was converted intu a tuuribt mine in the late 198u's. The operator desires to <br />maintain both of the DRMS reclamation permits with hupCs of reactivating tRc inining uperatiun. <br />Evidence of recent wurk to tnle purtal was u5served. I He operator stated that the recent worn is an effort <br />to stabilize and better secure the portal entrance. <br />i he pre -law waste rucK pile that ib located adjacent to Dexter Creek appeared to 5e sta6Ee but the <br />potential for the toe of the pile to erode in the event of a flash fluud is high. <br />i he purtal has a water d6cRarge ut appruximately 15u galiunb per minute. I he portal water enters Dexter <br />Creek approximately 300 feet to the nurth. The mine water appeared clear and nu evidence ut irun staining <br />or metals precipitation was observed. The operator provided the DRMS_a lab report for the mine water <br />quality which was tested un uctu&-r 4, LU14. I he lab report is enclosed with this inspection report. <br />I he mine bite is used as a cvoRvat/5ar5eque for tourists in the summer months. <br />Overall the site was in good condition and nu unncccs5a, y debris ur trash was ubserved during tRt: <br />inspection. <br />No erosion or sedimentation issues were nuted.
