C & 6 Sand and Gravel Inc.,
PO Box 147
Baggs WY 82321 (307)383-2198
N.W Regional Wildlife ,ianager
Colorado Division of Wildlife
11 Independent Avenue
' Grand Junction, CO 81505
RE: Request for Comments - Proposed Sheehan Pit Project — Special Use Permit and DRM,&S 110
Permit Application for C-" Sand and Gravel - 1 mile South of Slater, Moffat County, Colorado.
Stir
G Sand and Gravel is applying for a DMR&S Limited Impact 110 Permit and a Moffat County
Special Use Permit for an 8.7b acre site. A smaller 3 acre pit has/had operated since 1994 at the same site.
(The site is located within the NE/4 of Section 21, T12N, R89W; map attached). The applicant and
landowner wish to notify the DOW as to the nature of the project and request that the DOW provide
comments, if deemed necessary, as to any special wildlife concerns the Division may have.
This will be a small "family owned" long term operation similar to the previous one on the same site.
Operations at the site will be approximately 5-3 days per year. Generally site activities will be contained to
the previously disturbed 3 acre area uutially plus some rock scaling from above previous mined areas and
along the eastside of the site above the County Road 1 R.O.W
Future mining activities will move to the west and north from the initial 3 acre area which will be
used for the site operations. Limited screening and crushing, possible asphalt production and material
stockpiling operations may be temporally located at the site from time to time. The site is basically a large
sandstone outcrop and most of the production at the site will be for rip -rap and boulder/rock type
material. All areas are currently classified as rangeland and all disturbed areas will be reclaimed to
rangeland.
Thanks,
Krissa Corson
Office Manager
