556 Struthers Ave.
Grand Junction, CO 81501
970-242-5370
NOXIOUS WEED MANAGEMENT PLAN
BREEZE BASIN GRAVEL PIT
MOFFAT COUNTY, COLORADO
SEPTEMBER 2015
PURPOSE
The purpose of this Noxious Weed Management Plan is to control noxious weed
species that have been identified by the Colorado Weed Management Association
(CWMA) and more particularly identified in Moffat County. This Plan provides
guidelines for managing designated noxious weeds.
Certain undesirable plants, primarily aggressive non-native invaders, constitute a threat
to the continuous economic and environmental value of the lands of Moffat County.
These species must be managed using integrated management techniques which are
least damaging to the environment and which are practical and economically
reasonable. Therefore, the noxious weed management plan is implemented to prevent,
or control, the spread of noxious weeds within the subject property and to prevent the
spreading of noxious weeds to adjoining properties.
GOAL
Prevention, early detection and early treatment are the most cost effective means for
weed control.
• Identify and contain, reduce or eradicate current weed infestations and reduce or
eliminate weed seed production in certain species.
• Monitor and treat new infestations and new invasive species so as to prevent
new encroachments on owner's and adjoining lands.
• Protect native plant ecosystems.
Noxious Weed Management Plan 1
