The overall
vegetation cover is excellent, and there are no erosion features.
SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
Near Pond 4, the slump repairs are complete. The areas on the east side of the RDA that have recently
been repaired are stable.
SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04:
The explosives bunker area and the rock dust storage area were inspected, and no large bare spots, erosion,
or weed patches were seen. At the reclaimed Substation #2 there was no erosion and some emergent vegetation.
At the northwest end of the truck tunnel, the shed has been completely removed, and straw mats have been placed
on the site for erosion control. The tunnel apron at this end is mostly clear of sediment.
No erosion was seen at the Monarch Fan; this area has excellent vegetation cover.
OFFSITE SUPPORT FACILIITES - Rule 4.04, 4.28:
Vegetation cover on the reclaimed ponds at the loadout is very extensive with dominant species including
sunflowers and kochia.
At the reclaimed Pond L1, the silt fence is lying on the ground and requires repair. At Pond L2, the silt fence
below the riprap needs to be repaired.
TOPSOIL Rule 4.06
Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4:
Two topsoil stockpiles were observed: the one near the gravel parking lot in the facilities area and the one
at the northwest corner of the RDA.
