B. Water Quality. State how applicable state and federal nater quality standards will be met. <br />Describe measures or management practices to be used to minimize water quality impacts and <br />meet applicable standards. <br />1. State whether water is to be used in the operation. and describe the quantity, source, methods <br />and design of diversions, storage. use, disposal, and treatment facilities. Include assumptions <br />for sizing water conveyance 01 storage facilities. <br />2. Describe methods to control erosion and surface water nuioff from all disturbed areas. <br />including waste and tailings clumps. <br />3. Describe proposed surface water and groundwater quality monitoring, if required. to <br />demonstrate compliance with federal or state water quality standards. <br />4. Describe the measures to be used to minimize potential water quality impacts during seasonal <br />closures. or for a temporary cessation of operations. <br />5. If land application is proposed for waste water disposal. the location and operation of the <br />land application system must be described. Also describe how vegetation. soil. and surface and <br />groundwater quality will be protected if land application is used. <br />No surface water will be utilized or affected. Personal drinking water will be provided. <br />The original mine road has not been maintained for decades. One erosion area wil be filled useing 1 cu <br />yrds ot tailings and raked smooth. <br />trash will be removed daily, and human waste cuntained in a portable toilet. <br />C'. Solid Wastes. Describe the quantity and the physical and chemical characteristics of solid waste <br />produced by the operation. Describe how the wastes will be disposed of including location and <br />design of facilities. 01 treated so as to minimize adverse impacts. <br />Scrap lumber will be transported off-site for utilization on other projects. When mining operation cease the <br />retention walls will be removed and re -utilized. <br />Ore and tailings produced by my activities will be transported off-site, ground and washed. Residual material <br />will be mixed with cement and used to create shop tloor, deck, dnveway, etc. <br />D. Scenic Values. Describe protection of scenic values such as screening. slash disposal_ or timely <br />reclamation <br />The Puma City mine is located in an area designated for ORV use, and has no formal visitor use facilities. Most <br />people are travelling through the area within or apon a vehicle.
