4.0 — Final Stabilization and Long -Term Stormwater Management
This section provides a description of the measures used to achieve final stabilization and
measures to control pollutants in stormwater discharges after mining operations have been completed. In
accordance with the guidance documentation (CDHPF, 1994)," final stahiti7ation will be reached when all
soil disturbing activities at the site have been completed. and uniform vegetative cover has been established
with a density of at least 70 percent of pre -disturbance levels or equivalent permanent, physical erosion
reduction methods have been employed."
There will be 2 ponds constructed as part of the reclamation activities at this mining site. There
are no planned outfalls or culverts. The ultimate reclamation of the site is for ponds and paiture land
Reclaim topography will be flat '3% sloping to the north. DRM&G and Soil Conservation Service
recommended seed mix and methods %vitt he followed for concurrent reclamation along pond edges. Most
final grade activities will take place as mining activities proceed. Efforts will he made to achieve final
grade stabilization as soon as possible after excavation activities have been completed in any given area of
the site.
WestWater Engineering APPENDIX C - 44 July 2012
