October 20, 2015 C-1981-038/Bowie No. 1 Mine JDM <br />All ditches and culverts at the East Mine designed to convey run-off from the reclaimed slopes to the ponds were <br />stable with no problems noted. The culvert beneath the access road to Ponds 1 and 2 and the culvert from ditch 7 <br />to Pond 2 were clear of sediment. The rock lined channel on the west side of the refuse disposal area was stable <br />with run-off in the channel. <br />Ponds 1, 2, 3, and 4 and Ponds W-1, W-2, the Timber Storage Pond, and the West Ridge Pond were stable with no <br />problems noted. All ponds were dry with the exception of a small amount of pooled water in Ponds 1 and 2 with <br />no discharge noted. Gates at the Ponds 1, 2, and 3 primary spillways were open. <br />s� <br />Pond 1 Pond 2 <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03, Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3), Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance <br />4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6), Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The East Mine Haul Road has been narrowed to the current configuration. All surface drainage is directed to the <br />roadside ditch on the uphill side of the road by water bars. The ditch flow is then directed out of the ditches and <br />into Ditch 7, a drainage that runs parallel to the west side of the West Ridge Waste Pile, and out of the affected <br />area west of the West Ridge Waste Pile. The East Mine Haul Road was stable with no problems noted. <br />All roads associated with the Loadout area and the East Mine were stable and accessible during the inspection with <br />no problems noted. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />The Paonia Loadout continues to be utilized by Bowie Resources as a storage facility for mine related material <br />from the Bowie No. 2 Mine.
