Appendix Exh7-14I - East Taylor Ditch Redesign under TR-105
Following the approval of TR-104, which provided the design for an in-line
impoundment near Station 20+00, the changes to the postmining topography in the upper
portions of the East Taylor Ditch's drainage basin where modified under TR-105. This
resulted in a redesign and realignment of the East Taylor Ditch. The total drainage area
of the channel has been reduced from about 399 acres to 317 acres, and the overall length
has been reduced from 8,185 feet to about 7,389 feet.
The alignment of the East Taylor Ditch is shown on Map 41 and on Figures 14C-1 and
14C-2 in the discussion of the Taylor Tributary Ditch in Appendix 14C of this Item 14.
The design profile of the East Taylor Ditch is provided on Map 33A. The associated
SEDCAD modeling for the East Taylor Ditch are also included in the overall modeling
provided for the Taylor Tributary Ditch. As such, this SEDCAD model is separate from
and different than the model provided for the East Taylor Ditch under TR-104. Exhibit 7,
Item 14, Table 1 summarizes the design parameters.
For ease of construction, a trapezoidal channel cross-section 12 feet in width will be
employed for the rip-rap lined portions of the ditch. Channel side slopes will be 3H:1V
slopes and a minimum depth of 4.0 feet will be used for all sections. Riprap size has
been selected based on the SEDCAD modeling as described in the Introductory Text in
this Exhibit 7 Item 14, pages Exh. 7-14-1 through 3.
Exh.7-14I-15 Revision Date: 06/15/15
Revision No.: TR-105
