COMPLIANCE / ENGINEERING / REMEDIATION
October 9, 2015
Mr. Michael Cunningham
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Re: Amended Seed Mix for Areas in Need of Revegetation
St. Vrain Lakes, Filing 1, Slurry Wall
Firestone, Colorado
Dear Mr. Cunningham:
LT Environmental Inc.
1-7r7 i'...'' a
/QCT 14 t
ION
&..,....._ . -rTY
LT Environmental, Inc. is submitting this letter on behalf of Barefoot, LLC (formerly Carma
Bayshore, LLC) / Brookfield Residential Properties (Brookfield). Brookfield wishes to amend the
seed mixv proposed in the Response to Inspection Report submitted on November 21, 2011.
Brookfield believes that the "Areas South of County Road 68 Mix" recommended by the Weld
County Department of Public Works will establish a more diverse and long-lasting vegetative
cover capable of self -regeneration without continued dependence on irrigation, soil amendments,
or fertilizer than the earlier proposed seed mix. Therefore, Brookfield requests approval of the
following grass seed mix for the areas in need of revegetation:
Areas South of County Road 68 Mix
Western Wheatgrass (Arriba, Barton, Rosana)
2.50 lbs pls/acre
Blue Grama (Hachital, Lovington)
1.50 lbs pls/acre
Sideoats Grama (Vaughn, Butte, Niner, El Reno, Haskell)
2.25 lbs pls/acre
Smooth Brome (Lincoln, Manchar)
2.00 lbs pis/acre
Sand Dropseed
0.25 lbs pls/acre
Perennial Ryegrass (Calibra or Garibaldi tetraploid)
0.75 lbs pls/acre
Slender Wheatgrass (Pryor, Revenue, or San Luis)
2.50 lbs pls/acre
Alkaligrass (Fults II, Salt on Sea)
1.25 lbs pls/acre
Switchgrass (Nebraska 28, Blackwell)
1.00 lbs pis/acre
Total:
14.00 lbs pls/acre
(lbs pls — pounds of pure live seed)
Please note that if seeds are not available for a particular plant, then that portion will be distributed
to the other recommended seeds. In addition to seeding, weed control efforts continue to occur
annually or semi-annually, depending on weed growth.
6A"
