•
2.7.5.3a GROUND -WATER WATER LEVELS, EAST PANEL
A minimum of one year of water -level monitoring in the eastern area of Trapper
has been conducted to define baseline conditions in this area. Table 2.7-21a gives
the aquifer in which each well is completed. Figures 2.7-29a through 2.7-29q give
the hydrographs for the static water levels for the pre -mining Trapper Mine wells.
Maps M54 through M54C present the water -level elevation contours for several of the
aquifers in the Upper Williams Fork Formation. Map contours were developed from
September, 1986 measurements. Part B of Appendix V presents the depth to and water -
level elevation for the east panel wells.
Upper Unit of the Williams Fork Formation
The Upper Williams Fork as a whole acts more as an aquitard than as an
aquifer, but some of the individual strata do behave as aquifers. Generally, the
pressure conditions are different for each aquiferous stratum, and the trend is such
that the deeper aquifers generally have higher pressures. The depth to water is
variable because of the irregular topography at the site. Appendix V tabulates the
water levels for the pre -mine water levels for wells in the eastern portion of the
Trapper permit, as well as the operational water -level monitoring results.
QR Aquifer
The QR aquifer in the pre -mining area is monitored through wells GP -1, GP -5
and GP -6. Figures 2.7-29a, 2.7-29b and 2.7-29c present the water -level hydrographs
for these wells, respectively
Water -level elevation contours for the QR aquifer
2-523a REVISED FEB 13'87
