PERMIT #: M-1995-023
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: PSH
INSPECTION DATE: September 17, 2015
OBSERVATIONS
The Corkle Pit was inspected by Peter Hays with the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
(Division/DRMS) as part of the Division's monitoring inspection program. The site was previously inspected by
the Division on November 4, 2011. Mr. Hughie Corkle with Corkle Construction was present during the
inspection.
The site is permitted for 9.90 acres. The site was inactive during the inspection. A processing plant was
located in the southeast section of the site. Product stockpiles were located on the pit floor and the upper
portion of the site. The Operator reported hauling stockpiled material from the site in the last annual report.
The pit floor was wet from the recent rainfall. The site appeared stable and no erosion features were
observed. The site appeared mostly unchanged since the previous inspection.
The approved post mining land use for the site is rangeland. The Division holds a financial warranty in the
amount of $20,900.00, which appeared adequate to reclaim the current mining disturbance. The overburden
pile located near the entrance gate was been partially moved to the west side of the site on the upper portion
of the site.
An entrance sign was posted and permit boundary markers were observed as required by Rule 3.1.12.
Inspection Contact Address
Mr. Hughie Corkle
Corkle Construction
34612 Hwy. 14
Walden, CO 80480
Cc: Wally Erickson; DRMS
