Therefore, exposure of ground <br />water must not occur during or after mining operations. <br />® The proposed operation will consume ground water by: ❑ evaporation, ® dust control, <br />❑ reclamation, ® water removed in the mined product, ® concrete production, <br />❑ other: _. <br />Prior to initiation of these uses of ground water, the applicant will need to obtain either a gravel pit or <br />other type of well permit, as applicable. However, prior to obtaining a permit, an approved water <br />supply plan or decreed plan for augmentation is required. <br />❑ The applicant has indicated plans to use other water at the permit site for the following purposes: <br />❑ dust control, ❑ reclamation, ❑ processing, ❑ other: _ <br />COMMENTS: The application seeks an amendment to add 32.78 acres to the currently permitted 202.74 acres <br />at the Larimer Pit, for a total permit area of 235.52 acres. The 32.78 acres to be added are immediately <br />adjacent to the current permit boundary. Of the 32.78 acres, 15 acres will be mined and designated as Pit No. <br />21. <br />Pit No. 21 must be included in an approved substitute water supply plan or decreed plan for augmentation prior <br />to the exposure or consumption of any ground water at Pit No. 21. Please see the attached letter to Ms. <br />Jennifer Lindahl at Bishop -Brogden Associates, Inc. dated June 5, 2015 for additional information. <br />Well permit nos. 62009-F and 69035-F were obtained for the current use and exposed pond surface area of the <br />Larimer Pit in accordance with 5 37-90.137(2) and (11), C.R.S. The applicant may be required to obtain a new <br />well permit if the proposed mining of Pit No. 21 will expand the uses allowed under permit nos. 62009-F and <br />69035-F. <br />Any storm water runoff intercepted by this operation that is not diverted or captured in priority must infiltrate <br />into the ground or be released to the stream system within 72 hours. Otherwise, the operator will be required <br />to make replacements for evaporation. <br />This office has no objection to the proposed amendment, subject to the conditions above.
