Cunningham, Environmental Protection Specialist SEP 3 0 2015
1313 Sherman St., Rm 215
Denver, CO 80203 DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY
RE: City of Golden, Empire Pit, Permit No. M-1977-534-SLO1
Mr. Cunningham,
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the City of Golden's request for full reclamation
responsibility release for the Empire Pit. At this time, the only comment that the County has is related to
weed control. In a letter submitted by Anne Beierle, Public Works Deputy Director for the City of
Golden to DRMS dated January 6, 2015, it was indicated that the City will continue to monitor the site
and will treat, as necessary, for invasive species.
We thank the City very much for continuing to monitor the property for invasive species. We would ask
that, should it become necessary for the property to be treated for invasive species in the future, that the
City notify and coordinate with the County's Noxious Weed Control Supervisor such treatment.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Frederick Rollenhagen,
Community Development Director
Cc: Anne Beierle, City of Golden Public Works Deputy Director
Ted Brown, Clear Creek County Noxious Weed Control Supervisor
Keith Montag, Clear Creek County Manager
"Honoring Our Past, While Designing Our Future"
