JAFARGE
September 25, 2015
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Attn: Michael Cunningham
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Mr. Cunningham,
REEEM:6
SER 3 2015
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY
Lafarge would like to request a partial performance and financial warranty release for the
Bluestone Pit, M-1991-035. We submit this in accordance with Rule 4.17 of the Construction
Materials Rules and Regulations. The property within the permit boundary for which the release
is requested is owned by:
U.S. Department of Energy
Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
Environmental Oversight Office
Golden, CO
Attn: Laura Margason
720-356-1322
Laura.Mar ag son@ee.doe.og_v
Lafarge is requesting a release of the undisturbed portions of the reclamation permit in the
Northeast portion of the permit and the Southern section. Both areas of release are shown,
outlined in Black and Yellow on the enclosed map. Both areas were future mining areas or buffer
lands that were undisturbed during the life of the operation. Since that time, the Department of
Energy has utilized the Northern property for renewable energy sources. The Southern portion is
currently being worked into the Rocky Flats Wildlife Refuge. Lafarge would like to release these
areas to better facilitate use by the US government and remove any liability still held by Lafarge.
I thank you for your consideration on this matter and I can be reached at the cell phone number
below to set up an inspection.
Sincerely,
Sean Frisch, AICD
Senior Land Manager
Cell: 720-320-2451
email: sean.frisch@lafarge.com
LAFARGE NORTH AMERICA
8700 Bryn Mawr Ave, Ste 300
Chicago, IL 60631
,/Compliance
✓2 VIOLATIONS!
