The weather was clear at <br />times but often partly cloudy. The ground was dry. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />The Magpie Creek Diversion was viewed from the approximate center of this ditch (approximately due <br />south of the gravel lot). No erosion or other problems were seen with the channel or embankment. <br />The two ponds at the mine site, Pond 4 and Pond 5, were holding water well below the spillways. Neither of these <br />ponds was discharging. No major problems were found with embankments, flumes, or spillways. At Pond 4, the <br />emergency spillways have been cleaned of the small amounts of sediment noted in past inspection reports. <br />No drainage from the truck tunnel was seen as the ground in the tunnel was dry. No discoloration was seen on the <br />floor of the tunnel, and there was no smell of petroleum products. In the channel from the tunnel to Pond 5, no <br />discoloration or other sign of oil residue was seen in the bed material. <br />At the RDA, no problems were seen with the ditches or the California crossing. <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) <br />Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The road to the SAE at the former Newlin Creek Topsoil Stockpile was passable and no problems were <br />seen with the ditch.
