TRAPPER MINING INC.
eptemDer as, 21015
Ms. Tabetha N. Lynch,16
;EiVED
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety
SEP 3U 2015
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
DIV1SION OF RECLAh4ATION
Dear Ms. Lynch:
N1INING AND SAFETY
RE: Semi-annual Geotechnical Monitoring Report — September 2015
Trapper Mining Inc. (TMI) began submitting semi-annual monitoring reports to the Division, beginning March
2008 with the last report completed on March 26, 2015. TMI has been monitoring the 2006 landslide area for
movement through the use of a continuous monitoring system.
Section 3.3.3 of TMI's permit details the initial configuration of the monitoring system. Currently, there are three
sites (site 8, site 10 and site 11) that are monitoring the area. Due to the advancement of mining, site 9 was
decommissioned on September 4, 2015. The monitoring equipment for site 9 was moved to the east and
identified as site 11. Site 11 was commissioned on September 14, 2015. A map has been attached showing
the location of these sites.
Displacement graphs for all four sites covering the time period of March 30, 2015 through September 28, 2015
are attached. The monitoring software does not allow the option of picking particular dates to graph. We are
unable to show data between the dates of March 27 through March 30, 2015. Thus, a second set of graphs for
sites 8 and 10 covering the last year has also been attached. There are a few spikes in the graphs. The
system has a filter that is supposed to remove these spikes but some corrupted data still passed through. All
sites have shown minimal amount of movement.
An inclinometer graph for site 8 has been attached. There is a gap where data was lost from approximately
March 30, 2015 through June 3, 2015. The server was unable to collect data from the sensors. The sensors
continue to function but the condition of them is unknown. After troubleshooting the problem, the server did
eventually start collecting data in June. Data prior to June was lost. This graph has shown minimal amount of
movement.
TMI is waiting for the final approval of Permit Revision 7 (PR7). As soon as it gets approval, TMI will submit a
Technical Revision (TR) requesting to remove the slope monitoring requirements from the permit. TMI is
working on submitting a new ground control plan that will do away with the slope monitoring plan that is
currently in TMI's ground control plan.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Tonia Perkins, P.
