September 22, 2015 C-1996-083/Bowie No. 2 Mine JDM
Terror Creek Shaft
As noted in the October 2014, March 2015 and May 2015 coal complete inspections, ditch D -B37 is designed to
flow south along the conveyor line between culverts C -B26 and C -B13. Culvert C -B13 then conveys the D -B37
flow to B -Gulch. Due to down -cutting of D -B37 the operator cut a new ditch to carry flow from D -B37 to B -
Gulch on the west side of the conveyor, rather than realigning D -B37 to C -B13. BRL submitted TR -102 to revise
designs consistent with the current on -the -ground configuration. TR -102 has been approved and no issues were
noted with the on the ground configuration of this area. This item has been adequately addressed.
PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11
Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement.-
Gob
lacement:
Gob Pile #I
Gob Pile #I has been inactive. Technical Revision No. 97 was approved and provides a variance from the
requirement of Rule 4.10.4(4) for 0.2 acres of Gob Pile 41 where the slope was identified as being greater than 2:1
rl--k n;1. -"I)
Gob Pile 92 was relatively dry. Windrowing and drying of gob was not actively occurring at the time of the
inspection. A portion of the Gob on bench #4 was in the process of being excavated and placed on the west side of
the pile.
During the inspection equipment was active on both Bench 95 and Bench 94. The area on the east side of the pile
was very stable and dry with no issues.
Gob Pile 92 was in excellent condition with placement and grading activities on-going.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 6 of 11
