PERMIT #: M-2007-035
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: PSH
INSPECTION DATE: September 17, 2015
OBSERVATIONS
The Bond Pit was inspected by Peter Hays with the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
(Division/DRMS) as part of the Division's monitoring inspection program. The site was previously inspected by
the Division on July 19, 2010. Mr. Gordon Brocker with Glenn E. Sessions & Sons, Inc. was present during the
inspection.
The site is permitted for 20.31 acres. The site was inactive at the time of the inspection. No processing
equipment was present. A product stockpile was located in the northeast corner of the first mining area. The
Operator reported 5,160 cubic yards of stockpiled material was removed from the site in the 2015 annual
report. The Operator stated pit run had been removed from the site recently. The highwalls were estimated
at 6 to 8 feet in height. The next 5 acre mining area has been stripped of topsoil. The topsoil was stockpiled
to the east of the mining area. The pit floor was wet due to the recent rainfall. The site appeared stable and
no erosion features were observed.
The proposed post mining land use is rangeland. Overburden material has been moved into the first mining
area. The overburden will be used to reclaim the northeast corner and pit floor of the first mining area to the
required final 3H:1V slope. The Division holds a financial warranty in the amount of $35,527.00, which
appeared adequate to reclaim the current mining disturbance.
An entrance sign was posted and permit boundary markers were observed as required by Rule 3.1.12. No
problems were noted during the inspection.
Inspection Contact Address
Mr. Gordon Brocker
Glenn E.
