PERMIT #: M-1981-085 <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: PSH <br />INSPECTION DATE: September 16, 2015 <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />The Riprap Quarry Area was inspected by Peter Hays with the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />(Division/DRMS) as part of the Division's monitoring inspection program. Mr. Jim Struble and Mr. Noble <br />Underbrink with Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District (NCWCD) were present during the inspection. <br />The site was previously inspected by the Division on July 27, 2011. <br />The site is permitted for 34.20 acres. The mine site consists of a ridge of fractured basalt. Mining the site <br />requires the use of explosives. The site was inactive during the inspection. Mr. Struble stated the site has not <br />been blasted since 2011. No blasting is planned for several years at the site. Stockpiled material will be <br />removed from the site as needed. <br />The approved post mining land use for the site is general agriculture. No reclamation activities have begun at <br />the site. No noxious weeds were noted during the inspection. A topsoil stockpile is located north of the pit <br />floor and east of the access road. The stockpile was vegetated and was stable. <br />The mine sign and boundary markers were observed as required by Rule 3.1.12. The stormwater berm along <br />the east side of the pit floor was observed.
