3.4 Daily Site Activities
Hayward Baker mobilized to the site on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Whetstone arrived on site on June 3,
2015 and Hayward Baker finished setting up their equipment and began drilling.
On June 3, 2015 through June 9, 2015 Hayward Baker installed collars to the top of bedrock for the
planned 14 primary and 13 secondary holes (Table 2). Collars for the first few holes (FI - S4 and
F9) were drilled with a seven-inch bit and completed with four -inch schedule 40 PVC grouted into
place. Collars F5 - S8 and S9 - F14 were drilled with a five -inch bit and completed with three-inch
schedule 40 PVC grouted into place. Because a tagging probe was dropped down F3 on June 12,
2015 before it was completed, a new collar (F3B) had to be installed on June 15, 2015. The collar
for F15 was installed on June 22, 2015, F16 on June 23, 2015, and F17 on June 26, 2015 (Table 1).
The collars for F3B, F15, F16, and F17 were all drilled with a five -inch bit and completed with 3 -
inch schedule 40 PVC grouted into place.
On June 5, 2015 Hayward Baker began drilling primary holes to TD. Primary boreholes were drilled
vertically to approximately 40' below the top of bedrock using a 2.5 -inch bit. The original 14
primary boreholes were completed by June 16, 2015. F 15 and F 16 were completed on June 25, 2015
and F 17 was completed on June 29, 2015 (Table 2).
On June 6, 2015 Hayward Baker began performing pressure tests on primary boreholes to evaluate
permeability prior to grouting (Table 3). For the first 13 holes tested, pressure tests were conducted
on 10 foot intervals over the length of the entire borehole. For the subsequent holes, pressure tests
were performed in a single stage on the entire borehole. If the entire length of the borehole exceeded
the limits of the equipment, pressure tests were performed on the bottom half of the borehole. If the
bottom half of the borehole exceeded the limits of the equipment, pressure tests were conducted on
10 foot intervals over the length of the entire borehole. Pressure tests on the original 14 primary
