Re: Coal Exploration File No. X-2012-223-11
Bond Release No. 1 (SL -1)
Dear Mr. Kiger:
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is proposing to Approve the partial release of
coal exploration reclamation bond liability for Notice of Intent No. X-2011-223-11. Bond was submitted to
cover reclamation costs associated with exploration drill holes in Delta County. An inspection showed
that all holes have been adequately abandoned and associated disturbances have been reclaimed with the
exception of revegetation associated with Sites OM -12-35, OM -13-30, OM -13-18, OM -13-32, OM -13-13, and
OM -12-27. The revegetation reclamation liability at each site for a total of seven sites will remain. The
Division currently holds a Corporate Surety in the amount of $386,931.17 of which the Division approves
the release of $383,089.27 under SL -1. $3,841.90 is being held after the approval of SL -1 for revegetation
and weed management costs. This release represents a partial bond release of $383,089.27.
The legal description for the project is as follows:
Portions of Sections 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 23, 24, 25, 26, 35 and 36, Township 13 South, Range 93 West;
Portions of Sections 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 28, 29, and 30, Township 13 South, Range 92
West.
Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by this proposed decision may submit
written comments to the Division at the address below within 30 days of publication of this proposed
decision in the The Delta County Independent.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call.
