September 14, 2015 C-1992-080/Carbon Junction Mine RAR <br />• Topsoil stockpiles observed were well -covered with vegetation, with no signs of erosion. <br />BACKFILL and GRADING -Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall <br />Elimination 4.14.1(2),- Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling ofAcid and Toxic Materials <br />4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br />• The reclaimed North Pit slope exhibited no signs of erosion or instability. <br />• No problematic rills or gullies were found. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS- Rule 4.1 S, Rule 3: <br />• The reclamation appears successful for the proposed postmining land use of dryland <br />pasture. Topsoil stockpile #2, reclaimed spoils area and sediment pond were stable with <br />established native vegetation. Horse and deer prints were present throughout the site. <br />REVEGETATION- Rule 4.15 <br />Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />• Overall, reclaimed areas and topsoil stockpiles exhibited a diverse mix of well established <br />native plants. Late summer species such as sunflowers and chamisa (Chrysothamnus <br />nauseosus), were blooming.
