August 25, 2015 C-1981-010/Trapper Mine TNL
• The un -mapped culvert, previously described in April 2015 inspection and the May 28' inspection, along
the ash disposal road has had work done to help stabilize the road runoff (Photo).
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
Draglines location and status:
• The Queen Anne was down and staged
• The Baby Doe was active at the bottom of L -pit
• The Molly Brown was at the top of L -pit but not active.
REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Vegetation sampling was being conducted for Phase 3 bond release. The observed sampling was being
conducted for reclaim category range site C, which does not require shrub density but determines cover and
production.
Procedure Observed:
• Transect Determination using NAD27 Grid
• Navigate to coordinate grid point
• A pre -determined random bearing from the grid point is used to determine the direction to lay the transect
tape.
• Tape was laid out to 50 meters
• Ten point frame was used to determine the cover species data points.
• Cover data was collected at ten random pre -determined distances along the 50m tape. Even distances were
collected on the right side of the tape. Odd distances were collected on the left side of the tape. Ten
vegetation types were collected at each of the ten distances using a ten point metal frame and pointer.
• Production data was collected after cover data collection was complete at the transect. Three, one quarter
square meter plots were collected at predetermined random distances along the transect, and will be
averaged for that transect. No annuals, noxious weeds, or shrubs were included in production. Perennial
grasses and perennial forbes were included. Cheat grass was removed. Hangover into the loop was
counted.
TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06
Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4:
Two topsoil depth confirmation holes were dug at parcel Z -A-14, a 1.98 acre parcel reported in the 2014
ARR as a Final Regrade area, retopsoiled, and revegetated area. GPS points of the holes were collected to verify
the location. The first hole had 13 inches of topsoil the second hole had 10 inches of topsoil.
Topsoil pile G2-06 is currently being used to reclaim the top of K -pit. What remains of the pile may be moved
from its current location near the east disturbance boundary to the top of K -pit. Three scrapers were working at the
top of K -pit laying down topsoil.
Topsoil stripping is currently occurring at the Southeast corner of the disturbance area. GPS points and photos
were taken at the southeast corner of topsoil stripping. These points have been plotted onto the 2014 ARR
proposed topsoil stripping area map and the approved Topsoil stripping area map from renewal RN06. The points
fall within the approved stripping area. This figure is provided the end of this report.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 3 of 8
